I have found the best thing to export out is png format because of the file size. Just my preference. And I generally turn the uv color to red since it seems to provide a thicker and easier line to see when I go over to photoshop to texture normally or with ddo. So it can't find the folder to save it. I just signed up to say you are correct and helped me solve this issue haha.Now we know where to find our crash save files. But chances are good that whatever caused that file to crash once, will make Maya crash again.

Like all hugely complicated software programs, Maya has lots of problems! As I lay out each technique, I will explain the thinking behind it as well. This technique will deal with any problem specific to an object — not just disappearances. If your object is behaving strangely, follow these steps! We start with our object. I'm trying to get my head around making a texture in Photoshop using a uv map. Whenever I take the uv snapshot, save it as a targa file and open it in Photoshop the background is always clear. In Maya help it states that the background is always black i've noticed this on all tutorials i've looked at too. The Questions I have are Does it make any difference what colour the background is?
